NP Wardrobe

Narrative Pro · Fab · ships with NP Wardrobe Toolset

Bakes the difference between two fitted garments into a morph target, so one mesh reshapes to any body between them at runtime.

  • Fit one garment mesh to a whole range of bodies
  • Morph-based reshaping at runtime — no per-character variants
  • Plays with the framework’s appearance system rather than replacing it

One garment, many bodies, is the wardrobe problem. Skeleton-following handles proportion; it cannot handle bulk, and cloth simulation cannot rescue a garment that begins the frame inside the character wearing it.

NP Wardrobe takes the difference between two fitted versions of a garment and bakes it into a morph target, so a single mesh reshapes continuously across the bodies between them — at runtime, with no per-character variants to maintain.

Bones carry proportion; vertices carry bulk. Leader pose will never fix girth, and a simulated garment starts the frame already penetrated — the morph route is the one that works.
